Peyton tried to shake Nathan's hand off of her arm, but he was gripping tighter than she expected, so she had to turn around. "I am so tired of this crap Nathan. It's always the same."

This time she managed to get her arm out of his grip, "Look, you're d**n right it was your fault. I know you're sorry, you always are, but sorry gets old after a while. It stops meaning anything to the person you are saying it to." She turned and continued her walk to her locker, opening it and slamming it shut before opening it again to actually remove items from it.

Why did every one of their conversation end up in an argument!?

Brooke watched Peyton walk away, with Nathan almost on her heels. She would have went after her friend but Nathan had beat her to it. She knew they would probably go in the school and argue, that's what they almost always did. Brooke's eyes happened to fall on Lucas and Haley's table, and she saw Lucas following Peyton with his eyes. Luke must have sensed Brooke noticing because then he looked Brooke's way and met her glance for a few seconds. Brooke focused back at her table and began to chit chat with Theresa about the first basketball game that was on friday night. But she couldn't help but wonder about Lucas watching Peyton..Did Nathan's ignored half brother actually have a crush on his half brother's girlfriend and her best friend? Naa, no way.

[Lucas Scott]

Lucas looked at Haley..
"My day is just like before the summer...but I guess its just because its the first day of school" Lucas said and took a bite of his meal, Haley seemed to be bothered by the argue between Nate and Peyton so he turned his attention over to their table..

"Looks like everything its just the same as we left it.." he said.

He sighed as he looked over at his half brother hurting Peyton, he must had said something because Luke notice Peytons anger in her eyes as he looked at Nathan and before he knew it Peyton was standing up almost shouting at him that her and him were through.
Peyton left and so did Nathan, he followed Peyton with his eyes up to her leaving the cafeteria, when he was going to look back at Hales, he felt like somebody was looking at him so when he turned his head back, he got eye contact with the new cheer captain...they just looked at each other for some seconds before she turned her attetion to one of the cheerleaders.
Lucas just let that go and looked at Hales, who started to speak

"Ever hear of the saying, throw in the towel? That's what you need to do my best friend...If you dont throw it in soon...me thinks you will be hurting and not doing well at all..."

Lucas sent her a death look, so Haley put her hands up in surrender and laughed, "Okay, I will drop it....I just think you have better prospects out there other than Peyton Sawyer...that's all..." Haley would of said more, but she left it at that. She didnt like arguing with Lucas, and if they stayed on topic, an argument would ensue...

Haley stood up, gathering her books in the process and then started to speak again, a bit frustrated. "Listen I have to go do a few things in the tutor center. I will catch you later...If you are so serious on being with Peyton, my only advice? Do something, before its really too late..."

Haley waved a small goodbye to Lucas and left the cafeteria, not really sure why she just lied to Lucas...Yea she was going to the tutor center, but she was going because she wanted to get away from the new drama being created in Tree Hill. Somehow along the way, Lucas had changed, and Haley somehow remained the same...It hurt, but that's what life was about. Going through the motions and taking it each day, one day at a time....Haley just prayed Lucas used his common sense throughout the next few weeks....

Haley walked into the tutor center.

[Nathan Scott]

Nathan stood where he was and watched Peyton walk away. No matter how many times they fight it still doesn't get any easier. He took out his phone and dialed Brooke's number. Maybe she could help him out.......
" Hey Brooke, could you please please please help me out here with Peyton. I said sorry except she walked away" He said and sat down hin front of someone's locker weaiting for her to answer.

Brooke listened to Nathan on the line and when he finished she said.."Maybe if you got your head out of your a** things would be great between you two. If you keep it up your going to lose her Nate. I bail you out all the time Nate but I think it's time you start taking responsibility. I'm sure you can find a way to make it up to her." Brooke hung up after she said it, not really feeling bad at all. She always had to make things right, and maybe for once it was Nathan's turn to figure it out all on his own.

Brooke stood up from the table and grabbed her things.."I'll catch you guys at practice..there's something I need to do." And it sure was the last thing she wanted to do..d*mn math teacher...

GO TO TUTOR CENTER

[Lucas Scott]

Lucas said good bye to Haley, he finished his meal and then grabbed his bag and decided to head over to see Mouth. He walked out of the cafeteria and took out one of his book out, he was reading as he walked down the hall. And just as he was going to turn around the corner to get to the room where Mouth was he bumped into Peyton..her sketched fell on the ground and so did his book.

"Sorry" Luke said instantly not even looking at Peyton but when he did he realized who he had bumped into..she started to speak

After Peyton got what she needed out of her locker she turned, her head still in her back rustling around when she ran into someone, and dropped everything.

Sketches flew across the hall as she cursed, "D**n it! Watch where you are going, loser!" She knew it wasn't really the other person's fault, at least not all of it. But she was so not in the mood to care. Then she looked up and saw who it was.

"Oh, its you. Well, are you going to stand there and stare at me, or help me pick this up? Oh never mind, move," she started to gather her drawings, and saw Lucas reach down to pick one up.

She snatched it from his fingers, "That's mine."

[Lucas Scott]

Lucas was going to help her pick up her drawing, and apparently she was still mad from the incident in the cafeteria with Nate. He reached down to pick up his book and when he just had her drawing in his hand, she snatched it..they both stood up..

"Your art is great the little I saw..." he said and paused since Peyton rolled her eyes at him "And dont take out your anger out on me...im not the reason you have a sucky boyfriend.." he said which caused Peyton to stare at him

Peyton couldn't believe he had just said that, "Excuse me? You don't know a thing about my life." She continued to put her drawings back in the notepad she carried them in.

Luke continued to stand there, as Peyton did this,and she finished and looked at him, "Take a picture, it'll last longer. What are you looking at anyway?"

[Lucas Scott]

Lucas knew that she was going to say something like that and then round it up with an insult..
"I...never mind.." he paused, looked down and then looked up at her again.."Anyways I guess you gotta go but I just have to say that you deserv somebody better..." Luke said and moved aside so she could go past him and on...she did but turned around

Peyton started to walk away, but turned for one last saying, "Someone better. Right, and you know just the person do you? Do me a favor...get a life of your own, and stay out of mine, thanks a bunch."

She turned and went down the hall to her classroom, leaving Lucas in the hallway. Making it through the rest of her classes fuming, she got to practice still ticked off at the world.

Nathan went through the rest of his classes trying to find a way to make up for what he did. Until it was time for practice. He had an idea, he just had to go through with it.

Lucas watched Peyton walk away from him, he had finally spoken to her even though it wasent the best conversation. He didnt think about it for too long, he turned around and walked away to his last classes which he and Hales shared, he thought he was going to get to talk to her about his encounter with Peyton but they didnt really have any chance at all and when their last class ended he thought he would talk to her but she had vanished from the school. So Lucas took out his books from his locker and was goingto go over to Keiths workshop (Motors) but he was happily suprised that Keith was waiting for him outside the school.

"Hey Keith, I thought you would have alot of work to do" he said and Keith lean in for a hug. They pulled away and Keith looked at him.

"No, its okay and besides we are going to catch up...there is something else you have to do before we get to work." Keith said, Lucas was confused since Keith open the backseat door and took out a bag which contained clothes and a pair of shoes. Keith handed it over to him..
"I went to your house and took these...cmon lets go.." he said and Lucas walked with Keith, and Lucas was suprised to find himself at the Whiteys field house. Apparently Keith had been talking with Whitey about him and Whitey was all about to give Lucas a chance to make the team..
